Week of Sept 28 - Oct 2

 This week we are working on the following topics: Grammar Level 1 - Simple Present - Be and Have Level 2 - Count and Non Count Nouns Country Research We are starting a new project this week. Students will select a country they are interested in and research basic information about it. They will collect facts, write a 3 paragraph report, and prepare a Google Slides presentation to share with the class. Goals: I can ask research questions. I can use research tools. I can write the information I find in my own words using jot notes.  This project will take us several weeks to complete. I will give due dates for each step. Fall We are continuing to work on learning vocabulary and concepts associated with fall/autumn. 

Sept 21 - 24 in English Class

 This week we are switching to three new topics: 1. Fall vocabulary science concepts culture  2. Terry Fox reading comprehension writing personal opinion 3. Where Am I From? research process writing a description Reminder there is no school for students on Fri, September 25.
 Our topics this week are: Procedures: routines in our class  if you want to bring your own device bring it charged every day bring headphones or ear buds to class every day you need a free reading book every day - yours or one you pick from me I have given you an English For Everyone workbook to work on in class School Important people at school - use your timetable and the powerpoint on Google Classroom to learn your teachers' names Places and Things - see the powerpoint I put in Google Classroom Covid-19 vocabulary rules to be safe Feelings vocabulary of common feelings/emotions Grammar modals of ability - can/could
